Inventory Management and Cost Accounting:
- Create and maintain bills of materials, including component quantities, units of measure, scrap factors, yields, and production requirements.
- Establish, document, and update standard costs for materials, labor, overhead, subcontracting, and finished goods, revising them as needed based on purchasing activity, production changes, labor rates, overhead assumptions, and other relevant factors.
- Calculate and analyze purchase-price, material-usage, labor, overhead, and production variances.
- Reconcile inventory subledgers and supporting schedules to the general ledger.
- Monitor negative inventory, obsolete or slow-moving stock, valuation discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
- Support appropriate inventory reserve and obsolescence calculations.
- Confirm that inventory is valued consistently with applicable accounting policies.
- Maintain documentation supporting inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost-of-goods-sold calculations.
Revenue Recognition and Applied Accounting:
- Apply accounting principles to operational transactions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, cost of goods sold, transfer pricing, revenue recognition, accruals, deferrals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post recurring, adjusting, inventory, revenue, and reclassification journal entries.
- Maintain supporting schedules for balance-sheet and income-statement accounts.

- Reconciliation of distributor sales, shipments, invoices, payments, and related general-ledger accounts.
- Distributor-related accruals, deferrals, credits, estimates, and adjustments.
- CDMO-related accounting and supporting financial schedules.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Experience in a medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, or other regulated and inventory-based environment.
Position Development:
- The Accounting Manager is expected to provide broad accounting support during PECA's current stage of growth. The Director of Finance will establish priorities, provide technical direction, review assigned work, and determine how responsibilities should evolve.
- As PECA grows, the position may develop more specialized ownership of inventory and cost accounting, general-ledger accounting, distributor revenue, intercompany accounting, financial systems, or another area aligned with organizational needs and the employee’s demonstrated capabilities.
