Administrative Assistant — Part Time (Charlotte, NC)
Villmer Caudill is a growing, fully remote Charlotte law firm. We are looking for a detail-driven administrative contractor to take on the recurring operational work that keeps the firm running — 20 to 25 hours a week, 1099, $25–$32 an hour depending on skill and experience.
This role is mostly remote, with a short daily mail run and occasional local errands, so you will need to be based in 28205 (preferred), 28206 or 28204, with a reliable, insured vehicle.
The work
- Incoming and outgoing mail — daily collection, scanning, filing and dispatch
- Time and expense reporting in Clio
- Document filing in SharePoint
- Supplies, equipment records and the firm calendar
- Equipment inventory and supplies for new hires and departures
- Scheduling, local errands and occasional projects
You
- Two or more years of administrative experience. Legal experience helps but is not required.
- You own your work. It has real deadlines and must be right, and once that is established, it is yours to run with little oversight.
- Discretion with confidential client and firm information. Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement signed at hire
Proficient on a MacBook and in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Excel, and willing to learn Clio.
The details
- $25–$32 an hour depending on skill and experience, 1099 contract, 20–25 hours a week
- No set hours — about four to five hours a day, scheduled with the Firm Administrator
- Two deadlines: incoming mail filed by the next business day, outgoing dispatched the same day.
- Technology provided — MacBook, monitor, scanner, printer and peripherals
- Travel time paid, mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate
- Reports to the Firm Administrator;
not a client-facing role
