Employer Trowers & Hamlins Location Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Contract Permanent Level Not stated Salary Salary not published Closes Not stated
The Abu Dhabi team at Trowers & Hamlins seeks a qualified lawyer for non-contentious construction work across its Middle East offices. The recruit will principally support an institutional oil and gas client, advising on bespoke contracts alongside the client's in-house lawyers and project managers. The wider work covers EPC, infrastructure and development projects under UAE and English law.
The advert identifies a permanent, full-time position with hybrid working. Responsibilities include preparing and negotiating construction contracts, consultancy appointments and related security documents. The associate will advise on contractual risks and the interpretation of terms during live Gulf projects.
Client relationships and the development of the Abu Dhabi practice also form part of the job, alongside training presentations, legal research and support for trainees and paralegals. The firm requires three to five years of post-qualification experience and a law degree graded at least 2:1. Previous private-practice work on major construction and infrastructure projects is required.
Middle East experience is advantageous rather than essential. Applicants need fluent English and experience in drafting and reviewing construction contracts, with the ability to prioritise several matters against changing project deadlines.
