About Us

Zimmer & Rens LLC is a dynamic, forward-thinking Wisconsin law firm founded in 2021. Headquartered in Brookfield, we have rapidly scaled to a team of ten attorneys serving clients statewide. We are built on a modern business model that rejects the stagnant, rigid structures of legacy firms. By pairing high-caliber legal talent with a sophisticated, dedicated operations and implementation team, we actively scale our practice groups to maximize efficiency, file velocity, and attorney revenue potential.

We expanded our footprint with a brand-new office in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and we are seeking an entrepreneurial attorney to join firm co-founder Paul Zimmer as the location's second attorney.

The Opportunity: A Scalable Law Firm Strategy

This is a rare, ground-floor position backed by the infrastructure, capital, and technology of an established, fast-growing firm. Whether you are an ambitious associate looking for elite mentorship or a lateral partner seeking a frictionless platform to scale your book of business, we provide a distinct competitive advantage. We equip you with advanced legal tech tools and streamlined workflows designed to optimize your practice, drive massive case volume efficiently, and directly amplify your income. We are not afraid of change, we embrace modern legal strategy, and we fundamentally do not believe in capping your financial upside with rigid compensation limits.

Who We Are Looking For

• For Early to Mid-Career Associates: You will work primarily within our core practice areas (Real Estate, Estate Planning/Probate, Construction, Family Law, Business Law, and Civil Litigation). You will receive direct, hands-on training and mentorship from senior leadership, along with immediate, meaningful client contact and case responsibility.
• For Experienced Attorneys & Lateral Partners: If you possess a portable book of business or a strong local network, our operational model acts as an accelerator. We will deploy our implementation systems to seamlessly transition, support, and dramatically scale your practice group, allowing you to maximize our lucrative, uncapped performance bonus structures.

• Execute high-level legal counsel and manage file progression across transactional or litigation matters.
• Collaborate directly with co-founder Paul Zimmer to establish, market, and expand the firm's physical and professional presence in the Western Wisconsin market.
• Partner with our internal operations team to adopt, refine, and leverage modern systems that maximize client satisfaction and file efficiency.
• Cultivate deep client relationships and serve as a trusted corporate and community representative of Zimmer & Rens LLC.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin (or immediate eligibility for reciprocal admission).
• An entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented mindset that thrives on growth, technological adaptability, and operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and courtroom/boardroom presence .

Benefits & Compensation Structure

• Competitive Base Salary: $70,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year (commensurate with experience and portable business).
• Uncapped Performance Bonuses: A modern, highly rewarding bonus structure tied directly to your production and growth.
• Hybrid Workforce Model: Balanced schedule requiring 3–4 days in our professional La Crosse office space, with the flexibility of remote capability.
• Comprehensive Scaling Support: Full access to an active implementation team dedicated to handling administrative friction so you can focus entirely on lawyering and revenue generation.
