Labor & Employment Attorney – Buffalo | Hybrid
I’m working with an established national law firm that is looking to add a mid-level Labor & Employment Attorney to its Buffalo team.
This one caught my attention because it offers a good combination of interesting work, flexibility and genuine scope to develop. You’ll have the backing and resources of a national platform, but the opportunity itself isn't just about sitting behind the scenes supporting more senior attorneys.
They're looking for someone with 3+ years of experience across employment law and/or business litigation who is comfortable getting involved in matters and taking on increasing responsibility.
The work is varied. You'll be handling federal and state court litigation alongside more advisory employment matters, so it could suit someone who enjoys contentious work but doesn't necessarily want their entire practice to revolve around litigation.
Depending on your experience, that could include investigating discrimination claims, preparing position statements, advising clients on day-to-day employment issues, drafting employment policies and handbooks, conducting legal research and managing litigation through the courts.
What are they looking for?
You'll need to be admitted to the New York Bar and in good standing, with around 3+ years of relevant experience.
Ideally, you'll also have:
Strong academics are valued, but they're ultimately looking for someone who can write well, communicate confidently and be trusted with meaningful responsibility.
Why might it be worth a conversation?
For me, one of the more interesting things about this opportunity is the balance.
You get access to sophisticated work and a strong national client base, but there's also flexibility around how you work, with hybrid and remote options available.
The firm puts a real emphasis on attorney development as well. There's access to mentorship, practical skills and trial training, ongoing CLE and different career paths depending on where you ultimately want your practice to go.
Location : Buffalo
Working arrangement : Hybrid
Experience : 3+ years
Practice : Labor & Employment / Employment Litigation
Salary : $140,000–$190,000 base + bonus opportunities

You don't necessarily need to be actively looking to have a conversation about it. If you're an employment attorney in New York and the combination of better flexibility, interesting work and a national platform sounds worth exploring, I'm happy to give you some more detail confidentially.
If you'd prefer to speak directly, call me on . I appreciate that as a busy attorney, finding time for a conversation during the working day isn't always straightforward.
