The Auto Denter is responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle body panels, chassis components, doors, fenders, bonnets, bumpers, and other body parts following accidents, dents, scratches, and general wear. The position requires proper assessment of vehicle damage, dent removal, panel straightening, alignment, and preparation of repaired surfaces for painting. The Auto Denter must ensure all repair work is completed safely, accurately, and according to the required quality standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect vehicles to identify dents, scratches, body damage, and structural deformation. Assess the extent of damage and determine the appropriate repair method. Identify damaged body panels, doors, fenders, bonnet, boot, bumpers, and other components. Report major structural damage to the Garage Supervisor or Workshop Manager. Repair dents and damaged vehicle body panels using appropriate tools and techniques. Straighten and reshape damaged panels to their original form. Remove dents using hand tools, pulling equipment, hydraulic tools, and other approved equipment. Repair or replace damaged body panels as required. Ensure proper alignment of doors, bonnets, boot lids, fenders, and other body components. Repair minor chassis/body alignment issues within the scope of authorization. Remove damaged or irreparable panels when replacement is required. Cut, weld, straighten, and repair metal panels where appropriate. Ensure repaired panels have the correct shape, alignment, and gaps. Prepare surfaces for grinding, filling, and painting. Coordinate with Auto Painters regarding completed body repairs. Perform basic MIG/MAG or other approved welding work where required and authorized. Repair damaged metal body components. Ensure welded areas are properly finished and structurally sound. Follow approved welding procedures and safety requirements. Use welding equipment safely and correctly. Check alignment of repaired panels and body components. Ensure correct gaps between doors, bonnet, boot, and fenders. Verify that repaired components open, close, and operate properly. Conduct final visual inspection before releasing the vehicle to the painting section. Repair damaged plastic bumpers and body components where repair is feasible. Replace damaged clips, brackets, supports, and related components. Ensure bumpers are properly aligned and securely fitted. Prepare repaired plastic components for painting. Safely operate dent pullers, grinders, welding machines, hydraulic tools, cutting tools, jacks, and other workshop equipment. Inspect tools and equipment before use. Maintain tools in good working condition. Report defective or unsafe equipment immediately. Use the correct tool for each repair activity. Ensure repaired bodywork meets required workshop quality standards. Check panel alignment, surface condition, gaps, and overall appearance. Minimize unnecessary replacement of repairable components. Identify any additional damage discovered during repair and report it to the supervisor. Complete repair work properly before transferring the vehicle to the painting section. Coordinate with Garage Supervisor, Mechanics, Auto Painters, Electricians, and other workshop personnel. Discuss repair requirements and estimated completion time. Inform the supervisor of additional damage or parts requirements. Assist other garage personnel when required. Follow all company and garage HSE procedures. Wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes, gloves, goggles, welding shield, and protective clothing. Follow proper procedures when using welding, cutting, grinding, and heating equipment. Maintain adequate ventilation when performing welding or grinding activities. Keep the work area clean and free from hazards. Follow fire-prevention procedures when performing hot work. Properly handle and store tools, equipment, and materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Properly dispose of damaged metal, plastic, and other workshop waste. Keep tools and equipment in designated locations. Ensure vehicles are protected from unnecessary damage during repair activities. Required Qualifications
Technical qualification or vocational training in Automotive Body Repair, Auto Denting, Vehicle Repair, or a related trade is preferred. Relevant trade certification is an advantage. Valid training/certification for welding or other specialized equipment is preferred. Required Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Auto Denter / Auto Body Repair Technician. Experience in an automotive garage, body shop, fleet workshop, or vehicle repair facility. Experience repairing light vehicles, buses, trucks, or commercial vehicles is an advantage. GCC/Qatar garage experience is preferred. Required Skills
Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair and denting. Ability to assess vehicle body damage. Good knowledge of panel straightening and alignment. Ability to use denting, grinding, cutting, and welding tools. Good understanding of vehicle body structures. Ability to read basic vehicle repair instructions. Good attention to detail.
