Business Development Manager Lime Tech Middle East | Doha, Qatar Industrial, energy and engineering project support
We are establishing Lime Tech Middle East, and we’re looking for a Doha-based Business Development Manager to help build the business from the ground up. Working directly with Lime Tech’s directors, our Qatari partners and our UK delivery team, you will lead business development in Qatar and help shape our wider regional growth. We need someone who understands the contractor market, knows how industrial services are bought, and can turn a useful conversation into a properly scoped commercial opportunity. This is a hands‑on business‑building role—not a position managing an established portfolio of accounts.
What we do
Lime Tech provides the people, equipment, training and specialist support that help contractors deliver industrial and energy projects. A customer might need additional mechanical or electrical personnel, a confined‑space rescue team, someone to manage its safety equipment, or a complete technical work package. We can provide an individual service or bring several together under one delivery lead. Your support of our UK technical and operational team is not necessary to be a technical expert in every service; you must recognise a genuine requirement, ask the right questions and involve the right people.
- Skilled people and supervision: Mechanical and electrical personnel, HSE professionals, supervisors, painting and coatings personnel, rope‑access technicians and general operatives.
- Site safety and rescue: Confined‑space rescue, entry attendants, fire watchers and remote‑monitored confined‑space management.
- Equipment and training: Gas detection, breathing apparatus and associated safety equipment, including supply, management, maintenance and user training.
- Specialist teams and managed packages: Rope access, coatings repairs, high‑pressure jetting, managed HV installation and testing, and outsourced site HSE teams.
Your role
Our initial customers will be main contractors and subcontractors already delivering work in Qatar. Your job is to understand what they need and establish where Lime Tech can make a practical contribution.
- Develop contractor relationships across construction, maintenance, shutdowns, industrial services, power, oil and gas, fabrication and marine work.
- Find specific opportunities: An upcoming shutdown needing rescue cover, a contractor short of specialist personnel, an equipment‑management requirement or a defined electrical work package.
- Manage the sales process from first contact through site meetings, enquiries, proposals, negotiation and contract award, within agreed commercial authority.
- Work with our Qatari partners to turn introductions into productive meetings, clear requirements and dated next steps.
- Coordinate with our UK team on scope, pricing, personnel, equipment and delivery readiness—making commitments we can fulfil.
- Build repeat business through clear handovers, regular customer contact and disciplined follow‑up, while maintaining an accurate opportunity pipeline and sales forecast. Help coordinate contractor supplier registration and prequalification where required, ensuring these activities support real opportunities rather than becoming an administrative exercise.
Who we’re looking for
- A proven record of winning business in Qatar within industrial services, engineering, technical workforce supply, maintenance, safety equipment or a closely related field.
- Established, relevant contractor relationships and the ability to build new ones with project managers, contract managers, maintenance teams and subcontract buyers.
- Commercial judgement: An understanding of margins, payment terms, buying processes and the difference between an interesting conversation and a genuine opportunity.
- A practical, self‑directed approach: Comfortable arranging meetings, visiting sites, preparing proposals and following through without a large local support team.
- Strong business English and clear communication, with confidence to work closely with customers, local partners and our UK technical team. Experience working with UK engineering or industrial‑services businesses would be useful, as would experience helping establish or grow a regional operation. Arabic language skills would be an advantage. We are interested in what you have helped win and how you achieved it—not simply the size of your contact list.
Why join Lime Tech?
This is an opportunity to take a central role in establishing a new regional business, supported by Qatari partners and Lime Tech UK’s existing delivery capability. You will work directly with the people making the decisions, help shape our customer base and commercial approach, and see the effect of your work on the business as it develops. The immediate focus is Qatar. The longer‑term opportunity is to help develop Lime Tech’s presence across the Middle East. Success will mean qualified enquiries, commercially sound contracts, successful delivery and repeat customers—not just meetings and proposals.
