Detailed Job Description
As a Cisco ACI & Data Center Engineer supporting WorkWavez Solutions in Doha, Qatar, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of enterprise data center network architecture, Cisco ACI implementation, data center migration, and advanced troubleshooting. Your day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and deploying Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) fabrics in large-scale enterprise environments, managing Cisco Nexus 9000, 7000, and 5000 series switches alongside Cisco UCS servers, designing and configuring Leaf-Spine architectures, VXLAN EVPN, vPC, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols, integrating network infrastructure with VMware vCenter and virtualized compute environments, executing complex data center migration projects and conducting rigorous fault isolation, debugging, and root-cause analysis, coordinating with client stakeholders, external vendors, and internal engineering squads, ensuring strict adherence to enterprise security baselines and uptime SLAs, and meeting the mandatory CCIE Lab Certification requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, configure, and manage enterprise Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) fabric environments.
- Administer Cisco Nexus 9000, 7000, and 5000 series switches and Cisco UCS server infrastructure.
- Design and implement advanced data center topologies including Leaf-Spine architecture, VXLAN EVPN, and virtual PortChannel (vPC).
- Configure and optimize dynamic interior and exterior routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
- Integrate physical network infrastructure with VMware vCenter and enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Execute complex data center migration projects, hardware upgrades, and seamless network cutovers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve critical network outages, packet drops, and performance bottlenecks across data center layers.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of network diagrams, configuration templates, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 to 10+ years of progressive professional experience in data center network engineering and enterprise infrastructure.
- Mandatory CCIE Lab Certification required for this role in accordance with client technical specifications.
- Strong, demonstrable hands-on professional expertise in Cisco ACI implementation and data center fabric administration.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco UCS, Leaf-Spine architectures, and VXLAN EVPN.
- Deep practical proficiency in routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP) and high-availability vPC configurations.
- Solid practical experience with VMware vCenter administration and data center migration execution.
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities under high-pressure enterprise conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with strong stakeholder coordination and collaboration abilities.
- Mandatory legal work eligibility and physical availability for full-time on-site operations in Doha, Qatar.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Multiple CCIE certifications or professional expert-level vendor credentials in data center and security domains.
- Prior professional working experience in top-tier banking, telecommunications, or multinational enterprise IT environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN), network automation scripting (Python, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience leading multicultural engineering squads and managing enterprise data center transformation projects.
