Project Context & Location
This role is based permanently on-site at the Al Ghuwaifat Border Project Site (Sila Area, Abu Dhabi, UAE). This strategic, large-scale infrastructure development involves extensive civil, structural, and road paving works at the UAE-Saudi Arabia border crossing. Candidates must be entirely willing to work and reside in this remote border region.
Job Purpose
The Civil Foreman will directly oversee day-to-day site execution, supervising construction crews and subcontractors. The primary goal is to ensure that all infrastructure and civil structural works are executed safely, on schedule, and in strict accordance with the approved engineering drawings and quality specifications. As a bilingual leader, the candidate will bridge the communication gap between client representatives, local authorities, engineering teams, and multicultural site labor.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Direct and manage daily civil construction activities (e.g., concrete works, earthworks, paving, and infrastructure layouts).
- Bilingual Communication: Act as the primary on-site translator and coordinator, handling correspondence, site instructions, and verbal communication in both Arabic and English.
- Resource Coordination: Efficiently allocate manpower, machinery, tools, and materials across assigned work zones to maximize site productivity.
- Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and execute tasks based on approved engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Subcontractor Management: Supervise subcontractor teams and direct labor crews, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality metrics.
- HSE Compliance: Maintain zero-compromise safety standards on-site. Ensure all workers adhere to company HSE regulations, wear proper PPE, and follow safe work methodologies.
- Progress Reporting: Monitor and report daily work progress, manpower counts, and potential roadblocks or delays to the Site Engineer or Construction Manager.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Language Skills: Fluent Arabic speaker (both written and spoken) is mandatory for this position. Professional working proficiency in English is also required.
- Location Flexibility: Must be fully willing to work and live in the remote Ghuwaifat/Sila area (Abu Dhabi border region) .
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience as a Civil Foreman on infrastructure or large-scale civil construction projects.
- Regional Experience: Proven track record working on construction sites within the UAE or GCC region .
- Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of civil execution, structural concrete works, infrastructure, and heavy site operations.
- Safety: Basic knowledge of HSE and construction-safety requirements.
- Target Availability: Immediate joiners preferred or maximum 30 days
