Job Description We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new Commis 1 - Pasty. As a Commis 1 Pastry at Raffles & Fairmont Doha you will support the pastry team in preparing and presenting high-quality pastries desserts breads and other baked products in accordance with the hotel s standards. You will work closely with Pastry Chefs and other culinary team members to ensure consistent quality cleanliness and efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation baking decoration and presentation of pastries and desserts
- Prepare ingredients and perform basic pastry techniques according to recipes and instructions
- Maintain high standards of food quality presentation hygiene and sanitation
- Ensure pastry equipment workstations and storage areas are clean and organized
- Follow recipes portion controls production schedules and food-safety procedures
- Assist with mise en place and daily pastry production
- Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality
- Support the Pastry Chef and senior team members during daily operations and special events
- Minimize food waste through proper handling storage and portioning
- Follow hotel policies HACCP requirements and workplace safety standards
Qualifications
What will you bring to this role?
- Previous experience or formal training in pastry or bakery is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Good attention to detail and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced professional kitchen
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
- Good teamwork, discipline, and hygiene practices
- Culinary or pastry qualification is an advantage
