An opportunity has arisen for a Commis 1 for the Staff Canteen to join Jumeirah Jabal Omar. Jumeirah Jabal Omar Makkah offers a seamless blend of comfort, connectivity, and Arabian hospitality in the heart of the Holy City, featuring a range of dining venues and culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Take orders from the Chef de Partie and execute them accurately following instructions and recommendations, ensuring tasks are completed as per daily requirements.
• Gather, measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings according to established recipes and specifications.
• Wash, peel, chop vegetables, fruits, and meats with precision, demonstrating proficiency in cutting and seasoning meats and marinating as required.
• Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
• Document inventory of kitchen supplies, monitor stock levels, and notify supervisors of low stock situations to maintain sufficient supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct settings for cooking and baking temperatures.

Experience Required:

1 – 2 years of experience in a range of kitchen areas; ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.

Education Qualifications:

College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.

Skills Required:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
