Role Context
This role focuses on managing a wide range of benign hematological disorders, ensuring evidence-based patient care, and contributing to education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage benign hematological conditions including anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, bleeding disorders, and hemoglobinopathies
- Interpret bone marrow biopsies, peripheral blood smears, and laboratory investigations
- Collaborate with internal medicine, oncology, and transfusion teams for integrated care
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions
- Contribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors and allied healthcare staff
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree with specialization in Hematology
- Board certification such as CCT, FRCP, FRCPath, American Board, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in benign hematology
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
