Controller – Growing Services Company
Charlotte, NC | $130,000 Base + Bonus | Hybrid Flexibility
A growing, privately held services company is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function and serve as a key member of the leadership team.

The Role
The Controller will oversee the accounting function, lead a small team, and partner closely with operational leadership. This individual will need to be comfortable moving between strategic financial oversight and day-to-day accounting when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the accounting team
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll and month-end close
- Manage reconciliations, financial reporting, taxes and audit
- Oversee WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Analyze project profitability and financial performance
- Partner with operations and project leadership
- Support collections and other accounting needs as they arise
- Improve accounting processes, controls and reporting
- Participate as a member of the leadership team
- Help support continued business growth and process improvements
What We're Looking For
- Strong WIP, percentage-of-completion and project accounting experience
- Background in construction, contracting, or another project-based environment preferred
- Experience leading and developing an accounting team
- Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience
- Comfortable being hands-on across the accounting function
- Experience in a small to midsize company environment
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Formal accounting training required; degree preferred but experience will be valued heavily
- ERP experience required; NetSuite experience is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Upto $130,000 base salary
- Annual performance-based bonus

- Primarily onsite initially, with hybrid flexibility once established
