CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Location: Wheeling, Illinois – United States. On-site; local candidates required.

Role Summary
Our client is an established international manufacturing group specializing in work holding and clamping systems for machine tools .
The company is seeking a motivated Customer Service Representative / Inside Sales professional to support customers, distributors, and OEMs with product inquiries, quotations, orders, and follow-up.
Strong communication, customer focus, work ethic, and willingness to learn are more important than specific product knowledge.
Product training will be provided; advanced technical expertise is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales Support
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries by phone and email.
- Prepare accurate quotations for standard products and replacement components , and follow up on requests.
- Support order processing and communicate updates on availability, deliveries, and outstanding issues.
- Understand customer needs and help identify suitable products using training and available resources.
Internal Coordination
- Involve Outside Sales, Product Management, or Engineering when requests require specialized technical support.
- Pass qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales representative and support follow-up.
- Work directly with colleagues to resolve issues quickly and keep customers informed.
Organization & Follow-Through
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation, and order records.
- Manage multiple requests while maintaining attention to detail and responsiveness.
- Help improve service processes and build long-term customer relationships.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in customer service, inside sales, sales support , or a similar customer-facing role.
- Background in manufacturing, industrial products, machinery, automation, or another technical environment strongly preferred.
- Direct work holding experience is not required ; curiosity and the ability to learn technical products are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly over the phone.
- Positive, professional, and approachable, with commercial aptitude and a strong customer-service mindset .
- Reliable, organized, and proactive, with consistent follow-through.
- Comfortable collaborating across departments and managing changing priorities.
- Degree not required ; practical experience, aptitude, and attitude are valued. Freshly graduated engineers are welcome.
Additional Requirements
- Based on-site in Wheeling, Illinois .
- Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance; relocation assistance is not anticipated.
