Job description
The Data Protection Intern supports the Privacy Office in keeping the company compliant with UAE data protection laws. The role gives hands‑on exposure to the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain our data inventory and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), including data categories, purposes, legal bases and retention periods.
- Assist with DPIAs and privacy reviews
- Update data privacy policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and business needs.
- Help track regulatory updates.
- Update data maps and data flow inventories with business teams.
Requirements
- Pursuing or Recent graduate in Law, Information Security, Business or a related field.
- Genuine interest in data protection and basic knowledge of Middle East data privacy laws, particularly the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
- Clear written English, strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
- Nice to have familiarity with UAE PDPL and progress toward CIPP/E or CIPM
