A large, mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Director of Grants to partner with senior leadership on grants administration, fiscal operations, and process improvement initiatives. Reporting to the CFO, this is a newly created role driven by organizational growth and increasing grant activity.
Location: Hybrid, NYC (3 days/week in office)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead post-award grants administration, compliance, and expenditure tracking
- Monitor grant reporting deadlines, registrations, submissions, and funding requirements
- Review and approve budget modifications and grant-related financial transactions.
- Support accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Drive process improvements across fiscal and grants functions
- Assist with capital grant monitoring and special financial reporting projects
- Participate in the organization's transition to Sage Intacct
- Provide oversight and guidance to a team of grants accounting professionals
Ideal Background
- Strong post-award grants experience is required
- Experience managing complex funding sources including government grants, contracts, foundation funding, and restricted/unrestricted funds
- Proven project management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
