Documentation team lead – technical communication services (india)

Aleido India is looking for a Documentation Team Lead to for our Bengaluru delivery centre. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating documentation activities, guiding the team, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and serving as the primary day-to-day interface between client stakeholders and the documentation team.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical communication expertise with people leadership, delivery coordination, and a passion for modern content practices.

In addition to driving delivery excellence, the Team Lead will champion the adoption of AI and automation to improve documentation quality, productivity, and customer outcomes.

This role is suited to an experienced technical communicator who enjoys leading teams, working closely with clients, and building scalable documentation practices in a global delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical writers and documentation specialists. Allocate work, manage priorities, and ensure effective utilisation of team capacity. Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance on documentation best practices. Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new team members.

Delivery Coordination

Plan and coordinate documentation activities to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and to agreed quality standards. Monitor progress, identify risks, and drive timely resolution of delivery issues. Ensure adherence to documentation processes, templates, style guides, and quality requirements. Track team performance against agreed delivery objectives.

Client Collaboration

Act as the primary day-to-day contact for documentation-related discussions with client stakeholders. Participate in regular planning, status, and review meetings. Understand client priorities and communicate requirements clearly to the team. Provide timely updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and improvement initiatives.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Establish and maintain high standards for technical documentation quality. Drive improvements in documentation processes, workflows, and content governance. Promote content reuse, standardisation, and efficient authoring practices. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, consistency, and user experience.

AI & Innovation

Lead the adoption of AI-enabled documentation practices across the team. Evaluate and implement tools and approaches that improve content creation, review, quality assurance, knowledge management, and content reuse. Coach team members on the effective and responsible use of AI in technical communication. Measure and communicate the benefits of AI initiatives and process improvements.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Prepare and share regular status reports and delivery metrics. Maintain visibility into team performance, risks, dependencies, and action plans. Escalate issues proactively and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.

Required Experience

6–10 years of experience in technical communication, technical writing, or documentation services. Minimum 2 years of experience leading documentation teams or coordinating documentation delivery. Demonstrated experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders. Experience in telecom, networking, software, enterprise technology, or related technical domains is preferred. Proven experience implementing or driving AI initiatives within technical communication or content operations.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical writing and information development expertise. Experience with structured authoring, content management systems, and documentation workflows. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills. Understanding of AI applications in technical communication and content operations. Strong planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to balance hands-on involvement with leadership responsibilities.
