Role Description

The Driller is responsible for operating drilling equipment and overseeing daily drilling activities to ensure safe and efficient well operations. This full-time, on-site role is located in Zone 86 and involves monitoring drilling parameters, coordinating with the rig crew, and implementing drilling plans. Day-to-day tasks include operating heavy drilling machinery, supervising the execution of drilling procedures, conducting routine inspections of equipment, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors and technical specialists. The Driller ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards, supports troubleshooting of drilling issues, and keeps accurate records of operations and equipment usage.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to operate and work with heavy equipment and drilling machinery safely and efficiently.
• Strong practical experience in drilling operations, including well control and adherence to drilling programs.
• Knowledge of directional drilling techniques and ability to support precise wellbore placement.
• Skills in inspection and equipment monitoring to identify issues and ensure reliable performance.
• Understanding of oil & gas field operations, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Relevant vocational training or technical certificate in drilling, petroleum engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work in an on-site, field-based environment with rotating shifts and varying weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse, multidisciplinary rig crew.
