About Mumbai Mirror

Mumbai Mirror is a popular English-language tabloid published by The Times Group, known for its sharp focus on Mumbai’s local news, civic issues, and urban culture. Launched in 2005, it gained a strong readership for its bold, street-smart journalism. After halting its print edition in 2020 due to the pandemic, Mumbai Mirror is being relaunched as a daily print newspaper on June 15, 2025, while also strengthening its digital presence.

The Opportunity:

To identify, develop and own engaging, original and insightful feature stories across a wide range of subjects, taking stories from idea generation and research through reporting, writing and publication, with the objective of ensuring that the paper offers distinctive stories that connect with its readers and stand out.

What You Will Do:

• To proactively identify and develop strong feature ideas, generate leads, build and maintain sources, conduct interviews, undertake research and field reporting, and shape stories from concept to publication.
• To write compelling, well-researched and narrative-led feature stories with fresh angles and strong reader appeal, while coordinating with photographers, artists and illustrators for the right visual treatment.
• To take ownership of stories through follow-ups, additional reporting and new angles, ensuring depth, relevance and impact while consistently delivering distinctive stories that capture readers’ attention.
• Stay closely attuned to trends, people, events, issues and conversations across Mumbai and beyond, and translate emerging developments and reader interests into timely, relevant and original feature opportunities.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 7years of experience in Features writing.
• High on General Awareness, Curiosity & Observation
• Strong Networking, Source-Building & Interviewing Skills
• Strong Story Sense, Research & Writing Skills

Education:

Graduation degree in any discipline preferably in English with degree or diploma in journalism/mass communication
