Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Airport Laborer to support daily operations on secured airport grounds in Anchorage, Alaska. This position performs a variety of general labor and ground-support duties as assigned by airport or company supervision.

The Airport Laborer will work inside airport security gates and in active airport operating areas , including outdoor locations exposed to snow, ice, wind, rain, and extreme cold. The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors in demanding weather conditions and around aircraft, vehicles, equipment, and other airport operations.

This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, attention to safety, reliability, and the ability to take direction and adapt to changing operational needs. Duties may vary from day to day based on airport activity and operational requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Airport Laborer may be responsible for a wide variety of general labor and airport-support tasks, including but not limited to:

• Perform general labor duties as assigned by supervisors or airport operations personnel.
• Work within secured, restricted-access airport areas while following all airport security requirements.
• Load, unload, move, stage, and organize materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other items.
• Assist with snow, ice, debris, and other surface-cleaning activities.
• Perform shoveling, sweeping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other physical labor.
• Assist with maintaining clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
• Operate hand tools and other basic equipment as trained and authorized.
• Assist skilled employees, mechanics, operators, maintenance personnel, and other airport personnel with assigned work.
• Move equipment and materials between designated locations.
• Assist with setup, teardown, and movement of equipment or work areas.
• Perform basic grounds and facility maintenance tasks.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, spills, debris, or other hazards to supervision.

Cold Weather and Outdoor Work

This position requires regular work outdoors in Anchorage's cold and changing weather conditions . Employees must be prepared to work in conditions that may include:

• Sub-freezing temperatures
• Snow and blowing snow
• Ice and slippery surfaces
• Strong winds
• Rain and wet conditions
• Limited daylight during portions of the year
• Rapid changes in weather conditions

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
• Lift and carry materials and equipment.
• Push and pull carts, equipment, and materials.
• Shovel snow, ice, dirt, debris, and other materials.
