Confidential Search General Manager – Industrial Technical Services
Location: North of Indianapolis, IN. (onsite leadership role)
Compensation: Competitive Base + annual bonus
A well-established, growing provider of technical and quality services to manufacturing, energy, aerospace clients is conducting a confidential search for a General Manager. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role with full P&L ownership and a team of about 25 technical professionals.
The right person will build a high-performing team, sharpen operational and financial performance, and grow the customer base, with the backing of a larger organization's regional and corporate resources.
What you'll do
- Own the full P&L for the location: annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management
- Lead, coach, and develop a technical team, including goal-setting, training, career development, and succession planning
- Build a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
- Partner with the sales and business development team to grow existing accounts and win new ones
- Assess staffing and capacity needs and plan for scale
- Work with Quality to maintain accredited quality standards and resolve customer issues with lasting corrective actions
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, Safety, and Legal in a matrixed environment
- Serve as the local face of the business with customers and in the industry
What you bring
- 8+ years in a technical services, laboratory, or precision/quality-driven operations environment, including 3+ years in people leadership
- 3+ years of P&L responsibility; multi-site experience a plus
- A track record of building and unifying high-performing teams
- Hands-on technical credibility with measurement, testing, or instrumentation work
- Strong customer relationship skills and a results-driven, growth-oriented mindset
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred, not required
- Valid driver's license; some local travel to customer sites
