Stevin Rock is seeking an experienced Geology & Exploration Manager to lead our geology, geotechnical, resource estimation and exploration activities.

This is a senior technical leadership position responsible for ensuring that our mineral assets are thoroughly understood, accurately modelled and optimally utilised to support safe operations, long-term production planning and sustainable business growth.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading geotechnical investigations, data analysis and stability assessments
• Providing expert advice on excavation methods, pit design and slope stability
• Developing geological and structural models and leading resource estimation activities
• Establishing appropriate geological confidence levels to support production planning and business development
• Planning and executing exploration programmes to identify and evaluate mineral resources and reserves
• Managing geological information to support the safe and efficient use of the company’s mineral assets
• Enforcing safe systems of work and leading departmental safety activities
• Managing and developing the geology and exploration teams
• Preparing and controlling the departmental budget
• Coordinating technical studies with government agencies, consultants, suppliers and contractors

About You

To succeed in this position, you should have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline
• A master’s degree and chartered status would be advantageous
• At least 10 years’ experience in the mining or quarrying industry
• Extensive experience in geology, exploration and resource estimation
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, slope stability and excavation practices
• Proficiency in geological modelling software and resource estimation tools
• Experience managing exploration projects and resource evaluation programmes
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capability
• Fluency in English
• A valid driving licence
