About the Role

Role: Global Head of Chemicals Consulting – CERA Consulting
Location: Dubai UAE; London UK; Houston Texas; Singapore
Team: The Chemicals Consulting Practice provides advisory services to the global chemicals industry, working collaboratively with other CERA practices to cover the entire energy supply chain.
Impact: This role leads a team of around 60 colleagues with an annual revenue of $12-15 million, overseeing new business development, consulting sales, revenue delivery, team coaching, and executive oversight of high‑profile complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall business direction, development, and leadership for the practice.
- Grow revenue via introduction and development of new offerings and sub‑practices.
- Lead business development and revenue generation globally in partnership with senior practice members, regional leads, and the sales and subscription services teams.
- Lead global talent recruitment, development, and retention.
- Manage client relationships and communications. Clients include corporates, investors, utilities, project developers, and governments.
- Coordinate with other CERA practice leaders in related sectors (e.g., Oil Markets, Gas, Power, Renewables, Midstream) worldwide to ensure seamless delivery of S&P Global capabilities.
- Oversee high‑profile complex consulting studies to ensure the highest standards of deliverables, client satisfaction, and project profitability.
- Coordinate with various elements of the S&P Global research organization to ensure continued thought leadership on key issues facing the industry.
What We’re Looking For
- 15 years of chemical industry experience, traditionally acquired through consulting or technology firms.
- Significant experience in chemicals and in at least two key regional chemical markets (North America, Europe, Middle East or Asia).
- Extensive professional network in the chemical and energy industry.
- Track‑record of building high‑performing teams via coaching and mentoring.
- Team‑leader and business‑development/sales experience with a commercial track record of delivering large complex projects to internal or external stakeholders.
- Chemical operating or business experience is a significant plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required. A graduate degree in engineering or business is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of business to communicate with executive‑level clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Ability to lead and manage large interdisciplinary teams.
- Must be highly organized and creative with strong time and project‑management skills.
Location Eligibility
- Internal applications for Dubai location: This position in Dubai is exclusively open to current internal S&P Global employees who are already residing in the United Arab Emirates. There are no relocation or international transfer opportunities available for internal employees outside of Dubai to transfer to Dubai. Applicants not residing in Dubai will not be considered.
- Other locations (London, Houston & Singapore): will follow standard eligibility and mobility practices as per S&P Global talent acquisition guidelines.
Compensation / Benefits Information
For US candidates only: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $174,420 to $348,800. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
