Global Sales Director

An established international logistics service provider is seeking a senior leader to shape and coordinate its industry-focused Freight Forwarding solutions across multiple regions.

This role sits within the Commercial function and operates close to customer strategy, market developments and live opportunities. The focus is on translating sector-specific requirements into structured, scalable and commercially viable Freight Forwarding models that can be deployed consistently across markets.

The position does not carry individual sales targets or customer ownership. Its mandate centres on solution leadership, commercial enablement and cross-functional alignment.

Scope of Responsibility:

Industry Strategy & Positioning

• Define and refine industry-focused Freight Forwarding frameworks
• Maintain close awareness of customer strategies, regulatory considerations and competitive dynamics
• Shape differentiated, market-relevant value propositions
• Provide structured input into capability and investment priorities

Commercial Partnership

• Work alongside global and regional commercial teams throughout the sales lifecycle
• Support early-stage opportunity shaping and customer discussions
• Contribute to complex RFQs and structured solution positioning
• Validate scalability, feasibility and commercial integrity of proposed solutions
• Enhance consistency and quality across major bids

Solution Leadership

• Translate industry requirements into deployable Freight Forwarding solution models
• Partner closely with Solution Design, Engineering and Operations teams
• Ensure solutions are robust, compliant and commercially grounded
• Convert customer insight and operational learning into continuous improvement initiatives

Capability & Knowledge Development

• Codify proven approaches into playbooks and toolkits
• Capture lessons from live pursuits and implementations
• Strengthen cross-regional collaboration around vertical expertise
• Equip commercial teams with market-tested solution assets

Profile

• 15+ years’ experience within Freight Forwarding or complex logistics environments
• Recognized expertise within at least one key industry vertical
• Strong commercial exposure, particularly within multi-country solution environments
• Experience supporting structured RFQ and pursuit processes
• Ability to bridge market requirements with operational realities
• Executive-level stakeholder management capability
• Strategic mindset with strong operational credibility
• Experience operating within matrixed, international organizations
