Chief Accountant Doha, Qatar
Location: Doha, Qatar
Preference: Candidates currently residing in Doha with transferable visa/NOC (if applicable) will be given priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee payroll processing and WPS compliance to ensure timely and accurate salary payments.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Maintain and control the Fixed Assets Register, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and local regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors and support annual audit processes.
- Supervise General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting role.
- Strong hands-on experience with: Payroll & WPS, Month-End Closing, Fixed Assets Accounting, General Ledger & Financial Reporting, Advanced SAP ERP user (FI/CO preferred).
- Expert-level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, dashboards, and financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial controls.
- GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
