The Role
The High School Mathematics Teacher will deliver stimulating Mathematics lessons that encourage students to explore concepts, develop mathematical reasoning, and think critically. The successful candidate will use effective teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining continuity in curriculum delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Mathematics lessons to High School students in accordance with the school 's curriculum and educational standards.
- Develop creative and effective teaching strategies that encourage enthusiasm for Mathematics and strengthen critical thinking skills.
- Apply inquiry-based approaches and effective practical Mathematics instruction.
- Differentiate teaching to address the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain continuity and consistency in the delivery of curriculum content.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support a productive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Develop strong working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities, professional learning, and the wider life of the school.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree together with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, State License, or equivalent specialising in Mathematics.
- Proven experience teaching IB Math or Common Core Math at High School level.
- Experience within an American curriculum or IB curriculum school is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and practical Mathematics instruction.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
