IT Support Engineer

Al Haktur IT Solutions is looking for a skilled and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and maintain reliable IT systems in Dubai . The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting users, maintaining networks, managing devices, and assisting with IT security and system administration. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities, good technical knowledge, and a professional approach to supporting employees and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level IT technical support to employees and authorized users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
• Set up workstations, user accounts, email accounts, and required business applications.
• Troubleshoot Windows operating systems and common desktop applications.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, email, Teams, and other workplace productivity tools.
• Assist with user account creation, password resets, permissions, and access management.
• Monitor and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, internet, and basic network connectivity issues.
• Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points when required.
• Perform software installations, updates, patches, and system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment, licenses, and assigned devices.
• Manage IT support tickets and ensure issues are followed up and resolved within appropriate timelines.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support when required.
• Assist users with application configuration and basic technical training.
• Perform routine system checks and preventive maintenance.
• Support data backup procedures and assist with data recovery activities when necessary.
• Follow company procedures for IT security, access control, and data protection .
• Assist with antivirus, endpoint security, software updates, and security monitoring.
• Identify recurring technical problems and recommend practical solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for hardware, software, network, and maintenance issues.
• Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, system configurations, and technical procedures.
• Assist senior IT staff with infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system deployments.
• Maintain confidentiality of company systems, credentials, customer information, and business data.
• Ensure IT equipment is properly maintained and used according to company policies.
• Perform other IT support and technical duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking , or a related field.
• Previous experience as an IT Support Engineer, IT Support Technician, System Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of computer hardware, networking, and software installation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP , and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience with printers, scanners, laptops, desktops, and other office IT equipment.
• Knowledge of antivirus, endpoint security, backup, and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer-service abilities.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
• Good documentation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an IT team.
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent are an advantage.
