We are looking for a Jr. Paralegal to support legal and case-related work for a team in California. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone beginning their legal career who brings strong organization, accuracy, and a service-focused approach to daily responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating clearly in writing and conversation, and contributing to a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings and case-related materials, with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Support immigration and employment-based legal matters by maintaining case files, tracking progress, and helping move matters forward in a timely manner.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders to gather information, provide updates, and deliver responsive service throughout the case lifecycle.
• Monitor deadlines, manage shifting priorities, and raise urgent or complex case concerns to supervising team members when needed.
• Proofread written materials carefully to ensure documents are clear, grammatically correct, and ready for submission or review.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office applications to maintain records, produce correspondence, and support daily legal operations.
• Partner with colleagues to maintain an effective team environment and contribute positively to shared goals and workloads.
Requirements:
• Paralegal certification or prior experience in a customer-facing or client support role.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a legal, administrative, or service-oriented setting.
• Working knowledge of legal documentation, pleadings, and case support processes.
• Familiarity with immigration law, including employment-based immigration matters, is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight timelines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including strong proofreading and precise drafting ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard office software.
• Ability to work collaboratively, stay organized, and exercise sound judgment when escalating issues.
