Kitchen Crew

The Kitchen Crew at Alien Burger is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen by preparing food, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and following all health and safety requirements. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, team-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to established recipes, preparation methods, and Alien Burger standards.
• Follow portion sizes, preparation procedures, and presentation standards consistently.
• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, mixing, cooking, assembling, and plating food as required.
• Ensure all food is prepared and served according to quality, freshness, temperature, and presentation standards.
• Read and accurately follow food orders and kitchen tickets to ensure items are prepared correctly and on time.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure food is prepared and delivered efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen and service teams regarding orders, shortages, delays, or other issues.
• Maintain proper food storage practices, including labeling, dating, rotating, and storing ingredients appropriately.
• Monitor food supplies and notify the appropriate person when ingredients or kitchen supplies are running low.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required, ensuring products are handled appropriately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including workstations, preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations and restaurant procedures.
• Practice proper personal hygiene and food-handling procedures at all times.
• Prevent cross-contamination by following appropriate food preparation and storage practices.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, surfaces, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift and at closing.
• Assist with dishwashing and maintaining an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Properly dispose of waste and maintain clean and organized waste areas.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly and report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including kitchen setup, restocking, cleaning, and securing the kitchen.
• Help maintain appropriate stock levels of ingredients, packaging, and other kitchen supplies.
• Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, storage, and portion-control procedures.
• Support other kitchen team members as needed to maintain an efficient and positive work environment.
• Attend required training sessions and remain informed about menu items, recipes, food safety procedures, and restaurant standards.
• Perform other reasonable kitchen-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen, food preparation, restaurant, or food service experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established restaurant procedures accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate standard kitchen equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items as required for kitchen operations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during busy service periods as required.
• Willingness to learn and follow Alien Burger's food safety, hygiene, quality, and operational standards.
