Corporate Counsel – Telecommunications & Regulatory
The Opportunity
A high-growth technology business operating across cloud communications and AI is seeking a Corporate Counsel – Telecommunications & Regulatory to join its in-house legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on FCC, state PUC and telecommunications regulatory requirements affecting UCaaS, CCaaS and VoIP products.
- Provide guidance on STIR/SHAKEN, Caller ID, CLI masking, interconnection and regulatory filings.
- Support the legal review of AI-enabled products and emerging AI governance and transparency requirements.
- Partner with Product and Engineering on regulatory issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support commercial teams on customer regulatory questions and coordinate with external counsel where required.
- Develop practical compliance frameworks, guidance and training for the wider business.
Ideal Background:
- J.D. with active U.S. state bar membership.
- 4–8 years' legal experience, with strong telecommunications regulatory experience.
- Good knowledge of FCC rules, the Communications Act and VoIP/cloud communications regulation.
- Practical experience with call-recording consent, TCPA and/or messaging compliance.
- Interest or experience in AI regulation and governance.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate complex regulation into clear, practical advice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
