About the Role:
You'll run the machinery behind Mal's Legal team: the NDA desk, Docusign, the contract register, Legal's trackers and dashboards, and the legal tech we're bringing in. You'll work closely with the Group CLO and the lawyers, and with teams across Mal who need contracts signed, filed and tracked.
This is a hybrid role, based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. It isn't a role for giving legal advice or negotiating contracts: anything that needs a lawyer goes to one.
Key Responsibilities:
- The NDA desk: run Mal's NDA process end to end on our standard form and playbook (requests in, the right form out, Docusign, countersignature, filing). Anything off the playbook goes to a lawyer.
- Signatures: raise and track Docusign envelopes for Legal (cover sheets, signing order, copies) and keep signers moving.
- The contract register: every signed agreement captured, filed and logged the day it completes, with a monthly check against Docusign so nothing is missed.
- Trackers and dashboards: keep Legal's work tracker, documents log and matter list current; a weekly status for the Group CLO; chase owners when items age.
- Legal tech: own the data and rollout of our contract management system when it arrives, and Legal's AI tools (naming, fields, migration, set-up and training for users).
- Corporate records: keep each Mal company's constitutional documents and registers complete and current, working with the company secretary.
- Intake: first line on Legal's shared inbox (log, route, acknowledge).
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Two years or more in legal operations, paralegal work, contract administration or company secretarial support, ideally in a law firm, bank or regulated business
- Hands-on with Docusign (or similar), Google Workspace and spreadsheets; confident using AI tools
- Exactness with names, dates, companies and versions
- Good judgement on when to escape, and discretion with confidential and personal data
- Clear written English
Nice to Have:
- Arabic
- Experience rolling out and/or operating a contract management system
- ADGM or other UAE company filings
- Fintech or banking experience
- A sense of humour!
First 60 Days Deliverables:
- The NDA desk running: standard NDAs out the same day, signed ones filed and logged
- The contract register rebuilt from Docusign completions since 1 September
- A weekly Legal dashboard in place
- Requirements and clean data ready for the contract management system
