Librarian: Catalog, Research & Literacy Programs (Ajman)

Librarian

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Librarian in Ajman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and electronic resources, as well as assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a passion for promoting literacy and learning. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1100$ per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire new materials for the library's collection through purchases or donations
- Catalog and classify materials using standard library classification systems
- Maintain accurate records of the library's collection, including circulation statistics
- Assist patrons with locating and using resources for research and reference purposes
- Plan and organize events and programs to promote reading and literacy among patrons
- Ensure the library's physical space is clean, organized, and welcoming for patrons
Requirements:
- Fluency in English (additional languages such as Malayalam or French would be an asset)
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous experience working in a library setting would be an advantage but not required
- Must be willing to work full time without experience
