Responsibilities:
- Manage civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution.
- Represent clients in medical malpractice and long-term care defense cases.
- Advise clients regarding professional licensing and regulatory compliance matters.
- Handle guardianship law matters and related legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other case documents.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Develop case strategies and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and legal teams.
- Operate with increasing autonomy while collaborating with experienced attorneys for mentorship and strategic guidance.
Must-Have Skills:
- Active license to practice law in Washington.
- At least three years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience with medical malpractice defense and/or long-term care defense.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, legal research, and written advocacy.
- Ability to manage cases independently and exercise sound legal judgment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with professional licensing, guardianship law, or regulatory compliance.
- Background in health law or representation of healthcare professionals and organizations.
- Experience taking depositions and handling hearings, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
- Established relationships within the Washington legal and healthcare communities.
- Interest in developing a long-term career path toward partnership.
