What You 'll Be Doing - Inspect incoming materials intended for stormwater construction works.
- Sample and verify materials against approved submittals and project specifications.
- Confirm that delivered materials meet applicable acceptance requirements before use.
- Coordinate required material inspections with Contractors and project teams.
- Witness or coordinate field and laboratory testing as required.
- Monitor material quality throughout construction activities.
- Identify materials or test results that do not meet specified requirements.
Materials Testing and Verification
- Review laboratory and field test reports.
- Verify test results against specified acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate testing schedules with Contractors and laboratories.
- Help ensure inspections and tests are completed without unnecessary disruption to construction progress.
- Maintain clear records linking tested materials to the relevant construction activities.
- Follow up outstanding test results and quality documentation.
Material Storage and Traceability
Monitor the storage and handling of construction materials to help preserve their condition and maintain traceability from delivery through incorporation into permanent works. The role will verify that approved materials are used in the correct locations and that supporting information is accurately reflected in project quality documentation and as-built records.
Quality Control and Non-Conformance
- Monitor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, and method statements.
- Identify materials that do not comply with approved project requirements.
- Raise and track non-conformance records when required.
- Follow up corrective actions through documented close-out.
- Verify that corrective measures are properly implemented.
- Maintain supporting records for material inspections and quality decisions.
- Coordinate quality matters with relevant Contractor and project personnel.
Inspection Records and Reporting
- Maintain complete and organized documentation covering material inspections, testing, results, and non-conformance activities.
- Maintain material inspection logs.
- Prepare and track test requests.
