Title: Medicaid Paralegal
Location: Hauppauge, NY
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit Medicaid applications and supporting documentation for nursing home and community cases.
- Handle all phases of the Medicaid process, including eligibility assessments, asset preservation, and audit responses.
- Communicate with clients, caregivers, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Support attorneys with Medicaid planning and asset protection matters.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of direct Medicaid application and planning experience in New York State.
- Strong understanding of Medicaid eligibility rules, including spousal impoverishment and asset transfer rules.
- Experience with crisis planning and community-based Medicaid preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly clients and their families.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is $75,000–$90,000, depending on skills, experience, education, and other qualifications.
