MIS / Management Reporting & Planning Lead

About Role:

As the MIS / Management Reporting & Planning Lead , you will be responsible for delivering management information (MI), financial performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis that supports executive decision-making. Working closely with Finance, Business, and Executive stakeholders, you'll play a key role in producing management packs, analysing financial performance, supporting planning activities, and providing the insights that help shape strategic decisions from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce the periodic management pack with clear commentary on performance against budget and forecast, variances, trends, and drivers.
• Own the annual budget process, coordinating inputs across the business and consolidating a coherent plan.
• Produce the rolling forecast, updating the outlook for actuals, trends, and emerging risks and opportunities.
• Own cost-centre reporting, giving budget holders accurate, timely views of their spend against plan.
• Prepare board MI, translating detailed financials into concise, decision-ready insight.
• Build scenario and sensitivity analysis to support strategic, financial, and capital planning.
• Analyse and challenge business cases and investment proposals, testing assumptions and returns.
• Define and maintain management-reporting hierarchies, KPIs, and data definitions, and reconcile management information to the general ledger and financial statements for a single source of truth.
• Partner with product control, financial control, and the business to align plans, targets, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain planning models and improve reporting efficiency and self-service through better data models and automation.
• Build the combined reporting and planning capability and an AI-enabled operating model — automating pack production, variance commentary, forecast production, and scenario modelling.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 8+ years in management reporting, planning, or FP&A within banking or financial services, including leadership of a team.
• Deep expertise in management packs, cost-centre reporting, board MI, budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario analysis, and business-case evaluation.
• Proven record building management-reporting and planning processes and data foundations in a regulated environment; experience standing up management reporting and planning in a new or newly licensed bank, or a comparable greenfield build, is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of banking economics and performance drivers and applicable financial reporting and capital planning standards.
• Is able to think beyond manual pack production and planning cycles; brings experience of automated or AI-enabled management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis; advanced data modelling, driver-based planning, and analytics.

Qualifications & Certifications: (Preferred)

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative discipline; a relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• Recognised professional finance or accounting qualification (e.g., CFA, ACA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• CBUAE Fit & Proper approval where the role holds a controlled function.
