Job Summary and Responsibilities
Neurologist Opportunity - Private Practice Ownership, Redding, CA
Catalyst Neuromedical Center 100% Outpatient No Call Physician-Owned
As a Neurologist at Catalyst Neuromedical, you'll build the future of neurology care for Northern California. We're a physician-owned, outpatient, private practice in Redding seeking board-certified/eligible neurologists who share our commitment to compassion, integrity, service, excellence, and teamwork - and who want their work to actually matter. This is a turnkey opportunity: an established patient base and referral pipeline on day one, a true no-call 100% outpatient schedule, and a clear path to ownership - built on service- line economics (EEG, ambulatory EEG, EMG/NCS, Botox, CCM, strategic partnerships) that let physicians earn more without adding volume or hours.
To be successful in this role, you should be excited about:
• Turnkey Infrastructure - established patient base, plus full administrative, billing, and clinical support from day one.
• True Autonomy - blend general neurology with your sub-specialty interests (neurophysiology, epilepsy, neuromuscular, or others); set your own 4- or 5-day schedule; real input on hiring and program direction.
• True Mentorship - work directly with Dr. Karen Garnaas (University of Michigan, Mayo Clinic trained) on both clinical excellence and the business of medicine.
• Regional Collaboration - partner seamlessly with Mercy Medical Center Redding's neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, and neurohospitalists for full-service regional coverage.
• Academic Opportunities - optional teaching through the local family medicine residency program (UC Davis-affiliated) or internal medicine residency (CUSM- affiliated), if you love to teach.
• 100% Outpatient, No Call - flexible 4- or 5-day workweek, designed to prevent burnout by design, not by accident.
• A Real Path to Ownership - transparent track to future practice ownership and profit-sharing. Build equity in something you helped shape, not just a paycheck.
As an outpatient neurologist, you will have opportunity to provide the services below:
E&M services: With a vast catchment area, you will have the opportunity to see a broad spectrum of neurologic conditions and the volume to build your subspecialty practice interests.
Diagnostic Testing: EEG, ambulatory EEG, EMG/NCS, skin biopsy for small fiber neuropathy or alpha synuclienopathies.
In-Office Procedures: Botulinum toxin injections (migraine, spasticity, dystonia), nerve blocks, trigger point injections.
Catalyst Neuromedical Center in collaboration with Dignity Health is offering this robust recruitment package.
• 1-2-year guarantee: $370,000-$400,000 plus benefits (based on training/experience)
• Transparent track to practice ownership by year 3, which will allow additional profit sharing of service income lines resulting in income potential exceeding $500,000
• OPtion 1: Sign-on incentive: up to $75,000, Option 2: Sign-on incetntive: up to $50,000 plus up to $100,000 in student loan repayment
• Relocation support: up to $20,000
• Health/dental/vision, 401(k) match, profit sharing and CME allowance
Job Requirements
Job requirements:
• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or eligible in Neurology
• Active or eligible license in the State of California
• Open to general neurology and/or sub-specialty focus (neurophysiology, epilepsy, neuromuscular, dementia or other interests)
• Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with a collaborative, values-driven practice culture
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the region
Where You'll Work
The Heart of Catalyst
We serve a 14-county catchment of over 750,000 people across the North State - a region with real, longstanding need for specialized neurological care close to home. For us, that scale of need isn't just a market opportunity; it's the reason the practice exists. We think of neurology here, less as a transaction and more as a calling to serve - and we're looking for physicians who feel that same pull toward medicine as service to community, whatever draws them to it personally.
Most private practices are built around throughput first - visit length, patient volume, and margin dictate everything else, and the physician adapts to fit the model. We built ours the other way around: revenue exists to fund the kind of medicine we want to practice, not the other way around. That's the honest answer to the fear a lot of physicians have about private practice - that choosing it means choosing money over mission. Here, the service- line infrastructure and downstream revenue exist specifically so we can afford to practice unhurried, whole-person medicine and still build good lives for the physicians doing it. You don't have to choose.
In practice, that looks like:
• Time to work through complex presentations - cognitive impairment workups, atypical movement disorders, diagnostic puzzles - instead of a schedule that only has room for the straightforward cases.
• Whole-person care, not just the chief complaint. Our staff culture and workflows are built around treating the patient in front of you, not processing the next one in the waiting room.
• A team hired and trained around compassion, integrity, service, excellence, and teamwork - not just clinical competency. That shows up in how front desk staff treat anxious patients, how MAs prep a visit, and how the whole practice carries a difficult conversation.
• Sustainability by design, not by accident. The service-line income and turnkey infrastructure described above exist specifically, so physicians aren't forced to choose between financial security and the pace of medicine they actually believe in.
If you've felt the pull toward corporate medicine's efficiency but missed the room to actually practice the way you were trained to - to sit with a patient, work a hard case all
the way through, and know your team shares that same commitment to serving people well - that's the gap this practice was built to close.
