Detailed Job Description

As an Oracle Apps DBA supporting mission‑critical enterprise systems in Qatar, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments and underlying database architectures. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing, patching, and upgrading Oracle EBS instances and database software, executing system cloning, backups, and disaster recovery operations using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard, and optimizing system performance. You will manage concurrent managers, tune database parameters, provide 24/7 production support, and resolve complex technical issues. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, developers, and project managers to maintain enterprise database security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Manage, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications and underlying database instances. Execute system cloning, database backups, and disaster recovery procedures using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard. Optimize enterprise database performance, perform SQL tuning, and manage concurrent managers efficiently. Provide 24/7 rotational production support, triage alerts, and resolve complex technical database issues. Administer and configure Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and ASM (Automatic Storage Management) environments. Develop, maintain, and execute automated Shell scripting for routine administrative tasks and backup verifications. Ensure strict adherence to database security baselines, access controls, and compliance standards. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, database architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 8 to 10 years of total IT experience, with at least 7+ years of hands‑on Oracle Apps DBA experience. Strong, proven proficiency in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) administration, patching, and upgrades. Extensive practical expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and Data Guard configurations. Strong proficiency in Shell scripting, operating system administration (Linux/Unix), and performance tuning. Proven experience providing 24/7 production support for mission‑critical enterprise database environments. Strong analytical problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities. Mandatory legal eligibility to work in Qatar with local residency or availability for relocation to Qatar. Nice-to-Have Skills Professional Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional – OCP, Oracle Database Administrator Certified Expert). Experience managing Oracle databases on cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure). Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) cloud control monitoring and tuning packs.
