Role & responsibilities Patient Diagnosis: Conduct physical examinations, review medical histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans. Non-Surgical Treatment: Administer conservative treatments first, such as prescribing medications, applying splints/casts, providing joint injections, and designing rehabilitation programs. Surgical Interventions: Perform corrective surgeries when conservative measures fail. Common procedures include joint replacements, fracture fixations, arthroscopy, spinal reconstructions, and ligament repairs. Collaborative Care: Work closely with physical therapists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and primary care doctors to manage comprehensive post-operative care and rehabilitation. Patient Education & Prevention: Counsel patients on injury prevention, chronic condition management (like arthritis or osteoporosis), and safe physical practices. Administrative & Academic Duties: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR). Many orthopedic doctors also supervise medical interns or participate in clinical research. Candidates should have appropriate qualifications and relevant clinical experience and should be eligible for DHP licensing in Qatar. Preference will be given to candidates who have already completed Data Flow and Qatar Prometric or who already hold DHP eligibility/licensing.
