Packaging Designer

At Please See//, w e believe good design starts with strong thinking, curiosity and an obsession with craft. We’re looking for a designer who cares about the details - typography, hierarchy, balance and visual storytelling - and who understands how these come together to build distinctive brands.

You should be an inspired thinker with a strong awareness of the world around you, someone who is constantly looking, questioning and finding new references. You’ll need the confidence to develop and articulate your ideas, work collaboratively with different teams and take ownership of your work from the first thought through to the final execution.

Our work spans branding, visual identity and packaging, and we’re interested in designers who can think beyond an individual piece of design to understand the brand and business behind it. We want you to create work that is original and relevant, beautifully crafted and, importantly, right for the brand and the problem we are trying to solve.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strong creative concepts and design solutions across branding, visual identity and packaging projects, from initial exploration through to final execution.
• Translate brand strategy and creative briefs into distinctive, relevant and well-crafted visual ideas.
• Create and develop brand identity systems, including visual languages, typography, colour, imagery and their application across different brand touchpoints.
• Work on packaging projects from concept development through to design adaptation, artwork and final production.
• Build a strong understanding of the brand, category, consumer and competitive landscape to inform and strengthen the creative work.
• Work closely with Creative Directors, Brand Partners, strategists and other designers to develop ideas and take projects forward.
• Present and articulate creative thinking clearly, both internally and to clients, explaining the rationale behind design decisions.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, managing the creative process, timelines and deliverables while maintaining a consistently high standard of work.
• Ensure design systems are applied consistently and thoughtfully across different formats, applications and touchpoints.
• Respond constructively to feedback, using it to challenge, refine and improve the work rather than simply executing changes.
• Bring fresh references, perspectives and ideas to the team, staying curious and aware of developments across design, culture and the wider creative world.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced agency environment without compromising on craft or attention to detail.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a design or creative agency, with hands-on experience across branding, visual identity and/or packaging projects.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, colour and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to develop a design from initial concept through to detailed execution and final artwork.
• Good understanding of brand identity systems and how they translate across different applications and touchpoints.
• Understanding of print and packaging production processes, with the ability to prepare accurate, production-ready artwork.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of design craft.
• Experience with motion, 3D or other emerging design tools is an advantage, but not essential.
