Job Description:
Build Campaigns That Generate Real Business Growth.
Software Co is an Australian AI-native software, product and venture studio. We design, build and scale custom software, AI platforms and digital ventures for ambitious startups, scale-ups and established organisations.
Alongside Software Co, our growing digital and creative agency helps businesses build their brands, generate demand and accelerate growth through high-performance digital marketing.
We are looking for an exceptional Paid Media & Performance Lead. Someone who combines deep technical capability, commercial thinking and hands-on campaign execution with a demonstrated ability to generate measurable business results.
This is not an entry-level digital marketing role, and it is not a position for someone whose experience has primarily involved coordinating agencies or reviewing campaign reports.
We are looking for a genuine performance marketing operator who knows how to get inside an advertising account, understand what is happening, identify opportunities, build campaigns, solve tracking and conversion problems, test aggressively and continuously improve results. You should understand the difference between generating traffic and generating revenue. Success in this role will ultimately be measured by the quality and commercial value of the opportunities you generate and not impressions, clicks or vanity metrics.
Key Skills and experience:
You will take hands-on responsibility for the strategy, execution, optimisation and performance of paid acquisition campaigns across Software Co, our portfolio of technology ventures and selected Rockatoo clients.
Key Responsibilities:
We want someone who can personally get into the detail.
You should be comfortable diagnosing tracking discrepancies, understanding attribution problems and determining what is actually generating commercial outcomes.
What We're Looking For
We care significantly more about what you have achieved than what certifications you hold.
Ideally, you will have:5+ years of serious hands-on experience managing and optimising paid advertising campaigns. Deep practical expertise across both Google Ads, Meta Ads & Linked In Ads. A demonstrable history of generating measurable ROI from paid acquisition. Strong experience with B2 B lead generation, particularly where customer acquisition involves higher-value or longer sales cycles. Experience personally managing substantial advertising budgets. Strong knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking and attribution. Experience building and optimising landing pages and conversion funnels. Strong analytical capability and confidence working with campaign and commercial data. An understanding of the relationship between marketing spend, qualified pipeline, customer acquisition cost and revenue. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to clearly explain what is working, what isn't, why, and what should happen next. A strong bias toward action, experimentation and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you should be able to show us real campaigns and real results.
Highly Desirable
Experience in any of the following will be particularly valuable: Software development or technology services marketing. Saa S and subscription businesses. AI products and platforms. High-value B2 B lead generation. Linked In Ads. Hub Spot, Salesforce or similar CRM platforms. Marketing automation and lead-nurturing systems. Server-side tracking and Conversion APIs. Call and offline conversion tracking. AI-assisted campaign analysis, creative development and optimisation. Conversion-rate optimisation and landing-page experimentation. Multi-brand or agency environments.
The Person Who Will Thrive Here
You are technical, tactical and commercially driven.
You don't wait for someone else to tell you why a campaign isn't working. You investigate it. You don't accept a falling conversion rate as something to put into next week's report. You want to understand why it happened and what can be changed today.
You are: Highly analytical and data-driven. Commercially minded. Intensely curious. Technically capable. Hands-on and execution-focused. Comfortable taking ownership. Naturally experimental. Detail-oriented without losing sight of the commercial objective. Comfortable being accountable for measurable outcomes. Constantly looking for the next optimisation opportunity.
You understand that great performance marketing comes from hundreds of intelligent decisions and experiments compounded over time.
And when something works, your instinct is to ask How do we scale it?
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to work across an unusually diverse portfolio of technology, AI and digital businesses.
You will have the opportunity to: Work alongside an ambitious Australian AI-native software and technology company. Help grow Software Co's own customer-acquisition engine. Work across innovative software, Saa S and AI products spanning multiple industries. Build and scale campaigns through Rockatoo for a growing portfolio of clients. Work with modern advertising, analytics, automation and AI technology. Have significant autonomy over campaign strategy and execution. Test ideas quickly without unnecessary layers of bureaucracy. Work directly with marketing, creative, technology and sales teams. Take genuine ownership of performance. Earn competitive remuneration with performance incentives for exceptional results. Grow into a broader leadership position as our performance marketing capability expands.
How to Apply We don't want a generic application telling us that you're "passionate about digital marketing."
Show us what you've done.
Along with your resume, please provide examples of campaigns you have personally managed and optimised, including wherever possible: Monthly advertising spend. Industry and target audience. CPL and CPA. Conversion rates. ROAS or revenue generated. Lead volumes and lead quality. Improvements you personally achieved. What wasn't working when you inherited or launched the campaign. What you changed. What happened as a result.
Case studies, screenshots, dashboards or portfolio examples are strongly encouraged where confidentiality permits.
During the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates should also be prepared to walk us through a real campaign, explain their thinking and demonstrate how they approach campaign analysis and optimisation.
