The role involves working under the direction of a foreman to carry out tasks in a systematic and professional manner. The position requires effective communication with team members within the organization and potentially with external parties in the region.
The role carries accountability for individual acts and omissions, with the authority to stop work if conditions are deemed unsafe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out grit blasting, sand blasting and painting works.
- Operate jet washing and steam washing equipment.
- Ensure all works are carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with the division’s Quality Assurance procedures and Quality Manuals.
- Follow specified systems, processes and procedures, implemented in the workplace, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements/standards.
- Work safely at all times, protecting the health and safety of everyone in the workplace.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management.
Experience Required:
- 2-3 years of experience in operating grit blasting machines and painting.
- Shipyard and marine experience will be preferred.
- Records of good company work experience.
- Experience certificate from heavy engineering organizations.
Education Qualifications:
- Primary school education.
- Experience certificate or vocation training.
