Job
The real estate sector in the United Arab Emirates is not merely a pillar of the national economy; it is a complex, high-stakes legal ecosystem that demands precision, agility, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks. For aspiring legal professionals, securing a position as a Paralegal at Driven Properties - the exclusive UAE affiliate of Forbes Global Properties - represents more than just a job; it is a gateway into the heart of one of the world's most dynamic property markets. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to bridge the gap between academic legal theory and the rigorous demands of corporate, transactional, and litigation practice in Dubai.
"In the fast-paced world of Dubai real estate, the legal department is the backbone of every transaction. A skilled paralegal is not just an assistant; they are the gatekeeper of compliance and the architect of contractual integrity."
In a firm as prominent as Driven Properties, which manages a diverse portfolio including Refine Associates Real Estate and Lamar Development, the legal department functions as a nerve center. The responsibilities inherent in this position are designed to cultivate a well-rounded legal practitioner. By engaging with high-volume transactional documentation, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience that is rarely accessible in traditional law firm settings at the junior level.
The role is multifaceted, requiring a blend of administrative rigor and substantive legal analysis. Key areas of professional development include:
For a junior lawyer, the first three years of practice are critical. This position offers a structured environment where you are not just filing documents but actively participating in the lifecycle of real estate development and brokerage. The requirement for bilingual proficiency (Arabic and English) underscores the importance of linguistic versatility in the UAE legal system. Mastering the ability to draft formal legal correspondence in both languages is a skill that will distinguish you throughout your career.
Furthermore, the exposure to AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and DNFBP (Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions) compliance documentation provides a sophisticated layer of experience. As global regulatory scrutiny increases, professionals who understand the intersection of real estate and financial compliance are becoming increasingly sought after by top-tier firms and multinational corporations.
Securing a role at a firm of this caliber requires more than just a law degree. To stand out, candidates should focus on the following preparation strategies:
The legal profession in Dubai is evolving rapidly. As the city continues to attract global investment, the demand for legal professionals who can navigate both the civil law traditions of the UAE and the international standards of corporate practice is at an all-time high. By joining Driven Properties, you are positioning yourself at the intersection of these two worlds. You will be working under the guidance of experienced counsel, gaining insights into the strategic decision-making processes that drive one of the UAE's most successful real estate entities.
This role is not merely an entry point; it is a platform for long-term growth. Whether your ultimate goal is to transition into a senior in-house counsel role, move into a top-tier international law firm, or specialize in real-estate litigation, the experience gained here will serve as a robust foundation for your future endeavors.

A: It is highly significant. Given the nature of court filings, RERA documentation, and client interactions in the UAE, fluent in both Arabic and English is essential for effectively managing the legal requirements of the firm.

You will gain exposure to transactional law, litigation, and regulatory compliance, which are the three pillars of a successful legal career in the UAE. The firm emphasizes professional development and a supportive, dynamic environment.

A: Highlight your specific experience with contract drafting (MOUs, NDAs), your familiarity with RERA/DLD frameworks, and any direct experience you have had with court filings or dispute resolution. Ensure your CV reflects your ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
