Position Summary:
The Peer Navigator provides direct Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) using a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach. The position conducts outreach, responds to referrals, provides warm handoffs, supports recovery planning, and connects participants to housing, employment, treatment, and community resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct peer recovery support.
Maintain participant caseloads.
Respond to referrals and complete follow-up.
Connect participants to housing, employment, treatment, and recovery supports.
Provide tobacco cessation education and referrals.
Document services in required systems.
Participate in supervision and ongoing training.
Represent Prevention Links in the community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring conditions required. CPRS credential or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Experience in peer support, outreach, or navigation preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of recovery principles, community resources, motivational communication, documentation, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and cultural responsiveness.
Travel and Special Requirements:
Frequent travel throughout assigned New Jersey regions; occasional evening or weekend activities. 40 hours per week.
