Process Development Engineer 1

Responsibilities:

Participate in manufacture;
process sustaining, definition and improvement;
design, development andquality test activities in the making of oligonucleotides. Work cross functionally with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to develop processes for new products and improve processes of existing products.

Requirements:

• Work experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries is desirable.
• Experience with chemical processes (preferably organic) preferred.
• Experience with statistics, Statistical Process Control and DOE techniques is a plus.
• Experience with high volume production in a high tech, high volume consumables industry is a plus.
• Experience with product development processes and project management is a plus.
• Good interdepartmental communication skills and documentation skills are required.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Moderate understanding of DNA, chemistry, and math
• Familiarity with lab practices and GDP

If we can find someone with oligo manufacturing or development experience, that would be ideal. Desired related experience in organic synthesis, preparative HPLC/chromatography, analytical HPLC/chromatography and/or liquid handlers.
