Procurement Specialist

*Must Have Solar Manufacturing Experience*

Translucent Solar is building its team in Summerville, South Carolina , and we’re looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to help strengthen and scale our manufacturing supply chain.

This is an opportunity to join a growing solar manufacturing company and play a key role in building supplier partnerships, controlling costs, maintaining material availability, and supporting production growth.

What You’ll Do

- Lead strategic sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and procurement activities.

- Source and qualify domestic and international suppliers.

- Lead RFQs/RFPs, contract negotiations, pricing, payment terms, and long-term supplier agreements.

- Manage supplier performance for quality, cost, delivery, lead time, and responsiveness.

- Partner with Production and Planning to ensure materials are available when needed.

- Optimize inventory levels, safety stock, reorder points, and inventory turns.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternate suppliers.

- Coordinate inbound logistics, freight providers, customs brokers, and international shipments.

- Monitor tariffs, commodity pricing, supplier capacity, and supply-chain risks.

- Track key procurement KPIs including cost savings, PPV, supplier delivery, inventory performance, and material availability.

- Lead and develop procurement and purchasing team members.

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply-chain experience.

- Manufacturing procurement experience.

- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

- Strong supplier negotiation and contract-management skills.

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar.

- Strong analytical, Excel, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- International sourcing experience is a plus.

- Solar, electronics, automotive, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
