Purchasing Manager

Pearlgreen Corporation, located in New Rochelle, NY is seeking an experienced hire to join our team as a purchasing manager. Ideal candidates should have 5-10 years of purchasing experience at a minimum; experience in the industrial supply/building products space is a plus. We are a fast-paced office looking for an individual that can manage multiple tasks, work independently, and ultimately coach others once they are up to speed.

Key responsibilities of the job include:

• Lead the research, evaluation, and selection of appropriate vendors for stock and special-order products, ensuring quality, availability, pricing, and service requirements are met.
• Oversee the sourcing and procurement of special merchandise items through vendor catalogs, online resources, and other available channels.
• Lead vendor negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and improved service levels while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Manage supplier communication and delivery schedules, including proactively coordinating and expediting orders to meet operational and customer requirements.
• Oversee the resolution of supply shortages, delayed or missed deliveries, order discrepancies, and other procurement-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing operational disruption.
• Manage and oversee staff responsible for resolving procurement-related issues, including vendor short shipments, credit requests, discrepancies, and internal purchase order processing, ensuring issues are addressed accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner.

Other qualifications we are looking to find are: Strong creativity and critical thinking skills, computer skills, and a willingness to learn. Also important are excellent customer service skills, verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to be helpful.

Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus. A college degree is preferred. Preference will be given to those who live in the lower Westchester area.

The position is permanent and full-time in our New Rochelle, NY office. Starting salary will be $60,000-75,000 per year. Benefits include medical, dental, pension and paid vacation.
