Job Purpose Summary

To manage tax processing and tax department inquiries related to Asset Management, Financial Statement report and external and internal audit. The incumbent is charged with maintenance of adequate records pertaining to Asset Management and Investment Services activities such as portfolio fund management and Investment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions

A. Shareholder & Financial

• Develop business budgets, control operation costs and contribute to QNB sales income by providing accounting and administration services.
• Ensure the information disclosed to the stakeholders is complete, accurate and timely.
• Implements KPI’s and best practices for Assistant Vice President Reporting and Taxation role.
• Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
• Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent and delegate authority to the respective staff and monitor exercise of the same.
• Demonstrate clear understanding of the important factors behind the bank's financial & non-financial performance.

B. Customer (Internal & External)

• Ensure the efficient operations of Reporting and Taxation
• Supervise the delivery of Reports (tax or otherwise) as per the required frequency always in line with the local procedures, client and tax authority requirements and laws.
• Handle/resolve queries/problems of fund managers, brokers, security markets and bank’s internal departments and Investors to the highest quality, speed and efficiency.
• To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
• Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
• Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
• Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory)

• Documentation
• Ensure the adequate maintenance of asset management documents (e.g. licenses, prospectus, articles of association, reports, records, etc.)
• Transfer Agency
• Manage the profiles to ensure timely delivery of reports/data required to perform the tasks.
• Fund Administration / Accounting
• Coordinate between funds and investment managers, brokers/ banks and founders to ensure timely capture of data and transactions in the system required to produce the necessary reports.
• Manage asset management profiles in the system in line with the required reports that must be generated challenging business should there be any incorrect or conflicting information.
• Manage direct and indirect tax provision calculations, tax structures and their impact in business
• Management - Question processes and procedures to ensure they are always up to date, the most efficient and robust enough to prevent errors and losses
• Ensure that the staff members follow asset management work flows and procedures in order to ensure high level of productivity, greater efficiency and smoother operations.
• Audit / Reporting / Reconciliation - Ensure account reports / financial statements, audit reports are printed and dispatched on-time to the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Address any audit findings and ensure they are closed within the defined deadlines
• Produce weekly/monthly MIS to manager
• Query Management
• Ensure inbound queries are answered within 24h from receipt
• Ensure no urgent emails are left unaddressed at the end of each day
• Escalate emails as needed with your supervisor.
• Communication
• Escalate all urgent matters requiring attention to department head

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s graduate preferably with a Major in Tax, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study) Masters preferred.
• Familiar with Tax Regulation and Legality, Financial Statements and Cost accounting
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank.
