A leading national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate with 2–4 years of transactional real estate experience to join its established Real Estate practice in New York or New Jersey.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions and leasing transactions, with exposure to financing and land use matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative practice offering direct client contact and high-quality transactional work.
The salary range for this position is $235,000–$295,000, depending on experience and other relevant factors.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
- Draft, review and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related transaction documents.
- Handle a range of commercial leasing matters on behalf of landlords and tenants.
- Assist with real estate financing transactions involving borrowers and lenders.
- Support due diligence, title, survey and closing processes.
- Work alongside attorneys on land use and related real estate matters.
- Communicate directly with clients and other transaction parties throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of real estate transactional experience at a law firm
- JD from an accredited law firm
- Qualified to practice law i8n New York or New Jersey
- Strong experience with acquisitions, dispositions and commercial leasing.
- Experience representing borrowers and/or lenders is advantageous.
- Exposure to land use matters is a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Superior legal research, drafting and writing skills.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage transactions effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
- Appropriate bar admission or eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
