Release Manager, Mobile Application | Doha, Qatar
We’re supporting a major client in Qatar on a national digital services programme that brings services from multiple government and private-sector entities into a single citizen-facing mobile app. The app is updated on a fixed two-week cycle, and we need a Release Manager to own it.
What you’ll do
- Own the fortnightly release calendar, from scope cut-off through to deployment and stabilization
- Run change approval and chair release readiness reviews, with the final go/no-go call
- Manage App Store and Google Play submissions, staged rollouts, and versioning
- Keep the app and the backend services behind it released in step across the vendor, the integration layer, and connected entities
- Plan for failure: rollback, hotfix, and emergency release paths
- Report release performance to programme leadership
What you’ll bring
- 6-8+ years in Release Management.
- Hands-on experience releasing a mobile app through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Experience on a large, multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder programme
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tooling such as Azure DevOps
- ITIL change and release practices, applied lightly enough to support a two-week cycle
- Clear communication with both technical teams and non-technical leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- ITIL 4, Agile/Scrum or DevOps certification, and government or regulated-sector experience.
